John Charles Dineen, passed away on September 15th, 2024 surrounded by his loved ones after an 8 month battle with esophageal cancer at age 62. Born on February 15, 1962 in Middletown, NY, to John F Dineen and Gladys Priest Dineen. He was a proud resident of Mount Hope, NY.
He graduated in 1980 from Middletown High School and continued on to be an Electrical Forman of IBEW Local 3 for 36 years.
John enjoyed many activities such as bowling in leagues, coaching for the Elks Youth League and was very active in his church, Otisville Mt. Hope Presbyterian where he was a Deacon. John worked with the Empowerment Kids program and acted in, as well as, help to set up productions of their Mystery theater. He was a devoted husband, father and loyal friend. John would drop anything for anyone in need.
John will be missed by his loving family which includes his wife of 40 years, Maureen (Rudolph) Dineen; two children, Jessica Dineen Vance and Jonathan Dineen, daughter-in-law Anna; three grandchildren, Lucas Vance, Ava and Atticus Dineen, his sisters, Carol Dineen and Debbie Kearns, her husband Steve; Sister’s-in-law Donna Henry, JoAnn Pierce, her husband Fred, Denise Hansen, and Cookie Cook as well as numerous nieces, nephews, 2 great nieces, aunts, uncles and many cousins. He was also a special friend of Bill W’s and Dr Bob.
He is predeceased by both of his parents, sister Diane Dineen, sister-in-law Charlotte Schof; brother-in-law Michael Henry; and in-laws, Maureen and Paul Rudolph.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday September 20th from 4pm-7pm at the Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, 130 Highland Ave, Middletown, NY.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday September 21st at 11 am at Otisville Mt. Hope Presbyterian Church, 25 Main Street, Otisville, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested in John’s memory to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties or Otisville Mt. Hope Presbyterian church.
