Obituary for John Cavalluzzi
John James Cavalluzzi, of Middletown, NY, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2022.
He was 89 years old. Born and raised in Bronx, NY to Gerardo and Mary Cavalluzzi on May 20,1933 John was a devoted husband, father, and family man. He was a proud Army veteran and member of the local American Legion. A lifelong love of hard work led him to be a successful businessman and decorator of fine art. He enjoyed fishing, playing blackjack, and spending time with the people he loved. John will be remembered for his strength, gift for storytelling, and sense of humor. His generosity, kind heart, and warm smile will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
He was predeceased by his loving first wife and mother of his five children, Vera Cavalluzzi, parents Mary (Nicoletta) and Gerardo, brothers; William (Vito) and Vincent Cavalluzzi, and beloved son-in-law/partner in crime, Scott Barker.
John is survived by his wife of 27 years, Judy Cavalluzzi. He is also survived by his family, including brother Frank Cavalluzzi and wife, Diane; sister-in-laws Margie Cavalluzzi and Jean Cava; his adoring children, Louise Keyser and husband, Frank; Mary Ann Barker, Jane Muller and husband, George; John Cavalluzzi and wife, Kate; and Jennifer Tranchina and husband, Tony; his grandchildren, Nicole Woods and husband, PJ; Jamie Johnston, Jaclyn Barker, Jiana Barker, Austin Keyser, John Cavalluzzi, Matthew Tranchina, Marissa Abraham, Darian Abraham, and Ava Tranchina; and his great grandchildren, Hayden and Rowen Johnston, Brantley and Vivienne Wilty, and Mila Tyner; as well as numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and great friends.
Visitation will be held from 2pm-4pm on Friday, June 17th at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY.
