Johanna C. Luciano, a longtime resident of Bloomingburg, died after a courageous battle with cancer on June 13, 2020 at home surrounded by her two beloved friends and care takers, Francisco and Dinelia Villanueva. The daughter of the late Carl and Louise Saracino Luciano, she was born in Queens, N.Y. on July 16,1932. Johanna was known for her spirited and spunky personality and her love of dancing; she would be the one you'd call if you were in need of someone to talk to or just looking for a sympathetic friend. She was always ready to help and many times she would take the lead in getting things done. She was admired for her sociability and her humor. Johanna volunteered for many events especially for her beloved church. She was a devout parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption and considered parishioners her family. Church events will never be the same without her!
She is survived by 2 great nieces Melissa and Monica and longtime friends and caretakers: Francisco and Dinelia and many close friends from her church family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 19 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of The Assumption Church in Bloomingburg with a short visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the start of Mass. Burial will take place in the family plot in Bloomingburg Cemetery. We want to remind guests to wear face coverings, keep social distance and conform to any regulations due to Covid-19.
