Obituary for Joan P. Ripp
Joan P. Ripp
October 14, 1945-May 9, 2014
Middletown, NY
Joan P. Ripp died unexpectedly on Friday, May 9, 2014 at home with her lifetime soul mate, Evelyn, at her side. She was 68.
Joan was born on October 14, 1945 in Queens, NY. Throughout her lifetime, Joan worked as a timepiece maker for the Government during the Vietnam War, and as a home caregiver, and but her primary job was that of homemaker for her family. For many years Joan was employed with great pride as a carpenter’s assistant. She is described as brilliant and self taught through the school of hard knocks. Joan was the best homemaker and caregiver for her immediate family, but the kids ( her animals) always came first. She made sure everything was taken care of at home so Evelyn could work.
Joan and Evelyn who met on Long Island, shared 38 years of Hell and High Water together. Although they were separated for 15 years, the universe brought them back together to carry out their destiny. They shared their home and lives with many animals including turtles, fish, dogs and cats. Joan’s last wish is that she, Evelyn and their many pets someday be able to rest in a plot together.
According to Joan’s plan, cremation will be private. She will rest together with her family at a later date.
