Obituary for Jennie Marino
Jennie Marino, a longtime area resident, died Saturday, September 2, 2006 at O.R.M.C., Horton Campus in Middletown, N.Y., following a 5½ year battle with cancer. She was 77 years old.
The daughter of the late Frank and Prudence Annunziata, she was born November 4, 1928 in Brooklyn, N.Y.Jennie, having retired from the Middletown Psychiatric Center, where she was an Occupational Therapist and a Therapy Aide, she went on and volunteered for many organizations, including the Ladies Auxiliary for the Middletown Elks Lodge #1097, the Office of the Aging, and Horton Hospital.
A family statement reads: "Jennie was a devoted wife of 57 years and a caring and loving mother to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She has left us a legacy of love, compassion and family values. She will be sadly missed by all and will continue to live on in our hearts."
She is survived by her loving husband, Sam Marino, at home; two daughters, Theresa Euser and her husband, Joseph, of Middletown, and Jeanette Coates and her husband, Donald, of Pine Bush; two sons, Dominick Marino and his wife, Mary Lou, of Montgomery, and Frank Marino and Barbara of Middletown; six grandchildren: Melissa, Nicky, Frank, Jennifer, Ashley and Michael; three great-grandchildren: Sara, Vanessa and Mia; two sisters, Mae Costantino of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Jo Regina and her husband, Gene, of Stewart, Fla.; one brother, Carmine Annunziata and his wife, Tina, of Brooklyn; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two brothers and one sister.Family and friends are invited to call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at the Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Ave., Middletown, N.Y.
A Funeral Service of Remembrance will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 6 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with Father Kevin Gallagher officiating. Burial will follow in the Orange County Veterans Cemetery in Goshen, N.Y.
