Jeffrey A. Roosa, owner and creator of Roosa Counseling Services in Middletown, died on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was 49.
The son of Leslie L. Levine  Roosa and Richard C. Roosa, he was born on September 26, 1964 in Middletown. He married Lynn Bernatowicz on June 16, 1990 and they shared 24 years together.
Jeff was a loving father and husband who helped many through his counseling service over the years. His unique therapy modalitiies were a gift to his community, as were his patience and care for others. Jeff had a wonderful staff who plan to carry out his legacy of excellent care and support of both children and adults. He enjoyed rafting, kayaking, video games and watching his favorite football team. Go Jets!
He loved watching and cheering for his kids playing softball, football and cheerleading. Family was his top priority and he loved to celebrate them in his many photo collages.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lynn, son, Gregory and two daughters, Sarah and Jessica, his parents, as well as his brother, Jason of Middletown, and his in-laws, Henry and Fil Bernatowicz ,brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation hours will be from 6-9 pm on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 6, 2014 at the funeral home at 11 am. Cremation will be private.
