Jeannette L. Roberts, a longtime area resident, died Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 64 years old.
The daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Kane Quinn, she was born on August 29, 1942 in Brooklyn. She graduated from the Kings County Nursing Program and Jeannette held a B.S.N. from SUNY New Paltz. She was a registered nurse and retired from Horton Hospital.
A family statement reads, “Jeannette was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, and she will be deeply missed”.
She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Robert J. Roberts at home; one son, John Roberts and his wife, Lori of Johnson; three daughters, Kathleen Ferrier and her husband, John and Mary Wickham both of Mt. Hope and Laurie Wanser and her husband Barry of Zionsville, IN; seven grandchildren, Dylan, Tyler, Jordan, Courtney, Cooper, Michael and Robert; one brother, Thomas Quinn and his wife, Ava of Penscola Beach, FL; three sisters, Mary Kilkeary of Rockaway, NY, Betty Ann Hass and her husband Andrew of Breezy Point, NY and Teresa Gatto of Lawrence, NY as well as several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to call from 2-4 and 7-9 on Monday, Apr. 9th at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday Apr. 10th at 11am in Holy Cross R.C. Church, South Centerville. Burial in the family plot will follow in Holy Name Cemetery in Otisville.
Jeannette’s family would like to thank Dr. Robert Dinsmore and the staff of the Tucker Care Center for the wonderful care and compassion they showed Jeannette and her family.
Memorial contributions in her name may be made to either St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105-1942 or to the New York Burn Center Foundation, 21 Asch Loop, New York, NY, 10475.
