Obituary for Jeannette "Dolly" O'Donnell
Jeannette O'Donnell, a lifetime Otisville resident, died Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at home with her family by her side. She was 90 years old.
The daughter of the late Frank and Jessie Teracino Bonanto, Jeannette was born June 12, 1915 in Otisville, N.Y.
Jeanette was the second woman in Orange County to have her own insurance agency. She was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Church in Otisville, and Otisville/ Mt. Hope Seniors.
A family statement reads: "She loved to play pinochle, and in her youth, she played women's basketball. Jeanette was very firm in her beliefs and strong in her faith. Her family and her faith were the most important parts of her life."
She is survived by her four children: Margaret O'Donnell of Middletown, Marylou Bosland and her companion, Jason Brennan, of Otisville, Joan Zoldan and her husband, Lee, of Howells, and William Jr. and his wife, Barbara, of Otisville; one sister, Louise Carhart of Goshen; a sister-in-law, Marge Bonanto; eight grandchildren: Robbie, Willis, Jonathan, Lucy, Jeanne, Billy, Kelly, and Cindy; and three great-grandchildren: Lucas, Owen and Alana Bosland.
She was predeceased by her husband, William O'Donnell on November 27, 2001; three sisters and two brothers.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, May 5, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Ave., Middletown.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 6 at 11 a.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Church, Highland Avenue in Otisville. Burial will follow in the family plot in Holy Name of Jesus Cemetery.
