Obituary for Jean Coe
Jean Coe, a longtime area resident, died Friday, May 11, 2007 at Montgomery Nursing Home. She was 82 years old.
Jean was born August 20, 1924 in Sussex, NJ. She moved to the area with her husband, Claude, in 1978 from Rockland County to raise their family.
A family statement reads, “She was an avid reader of many subjects, and she loved animals, especially cats. Jean was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and the best mother in law that anyone could ask for.”
Jean is survived by her three beloved children, Claude and his wife, Pam, of Maybrook, Thomas of Bloomingburg, and Mary Beth Westerkamp and her husband, Fred, of Ticonderoga; her six grandchildren Henry of Minnesota, Christine, Donald, Serena, Edward, all of Ticonderoga, and Claude of Maybrook; as well as her two great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Louis Royce of Chicago, and her niece Cindy Straught and her husband, George, of Walden; and her nephew Danny McGinnus of North Carolina.
Jean was predeceased by her husband, Claude, in 1991 and her daughter Betty Jean Kelting.
Cremation will be private and at the convenience of the family.
