Jason Ferrare, a student at Johnson and Wales University died unexpectedly, on Saturday September 16, 2006 in Miami, FL. He was 22 years old.
The son of Robert C. Ferrare and Colleen E. Clark Devlin, he was born on May 9, 1984 in Hackensack, NJ.
A family statement reads:” It’s impossible to put into a few words the kind of person Jason was. He will be remembered as the brave, generous and loving person we all knew and loved. “Jay” was a wonderful son and the perfect brother. He was a family man and a best friend to so many. He lit up our worlds and touched us all in a way that he will live on in us forever.”
Jason is survived by his mother Colleen E. Devlin and step father, Peter at home, his father Robert C. Ferrare of Wyckoff, NJ; one brother Shaun Ferrare of Middletown; two sisters, Christie Ferrare of Middletown and Lindsey Ferrare of Wyckoff, NJ; two step brothers, Andrew and Christopher Devlin of Warwick; his maternal grandparents, James and Elizabeth Clark of Warwick; his paternal grandfather, Albert Ferrare of Wayne, NJ; his step grandparents, Ron and Joan Smith; his aunts and uncles, Maureen and Brian Kane, Dan Clark, and Jim Kuhnert, Michael and Kris Clark, and Al and Doreen Ferrare as well as several cousins and a multitude of cherished friends. Jason was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Florence Ferrare.
Family and friends are invited to call from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm on Wednesday Sept. 20th at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc. 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown. A mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, Sept 21st at 11 am in St. Joseph RC Church, 149 Cottage Street Middletown. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Middletown.
