Obituary for Janice L. Appelmann
Janice L. Appelmann, a lifelong area resident died Saturday, February 24, 2007 at Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis. She was 76 years old.
The daughter of the late Russell and Elsie Broas Gibson, Janice was born December 18, 1930 in Middletown. Janice was a retired employee from the Middletown Psychiatric Center.
A family statement reads, “Her grandsons were her first loves. She was an avid reader and was always on the go. Janice loved shopping and travelling. A true people person, she always put her family and everyone else first. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.”
Janice is survived by two sons James Wilkin and Michael Wilkin; daughter Sherry Behrent; two grandsons Robert Behrent and Derek Wilkin; two great grandchildren Savannah Behrent and Ryan Behrent; and two sisters Patricia Burkinshaw and Linda Labolt.
She was predeceased by her husband, Erich Appelmann and two brothers James and Russell Gibson. Cremation will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Family and friends are invited to a graveside service for Janice Appelmann on Friday, April 20th at 11 am at Circleville Cemtery, Goshen Turnpike, Circleville, NY. Pastor Leo Jaloszynski will offciate.
Memorial contributions in Janice’s name may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation, New York Office, 333 Seventh Avenue, 17th Floor, New York, NY 10001.
