Jane Coldwell of Middletown NY, died on Friday September 24 at ORMC Horton Campus in Middletown. She was 90.
The daughter of the late Arthur and Josephine MacDowell, she was born on April 1, 1920 in Fishkill, NY. She married Frederic Coldwell on August 26, 1944 in Beacon, NY. She enlisted as a nurse in the U.S. Army to serve her country during World War II. Jane raised her family and spent her lifetime in the area.
She is survived by one son, Frederick L. Coldwell of Denver, CO; three daughters, Susan Coldwell-Covalla of Belmont, VT, Rebecca Coldwell-Cunningham, Carolyn Coldwell-Sardella of Middletown; eight grandchildren, George, Derek, Kristopher, Sean, Samantha, Andrew, Caroline and Patrick. In addition to her loving husband, who died on October 4, 1991, Jane was predeceased by her brother, Arthur and two sisters, Julia and Margaret.
Visitation hours are from 10 to 11 am on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at Applebee-McPhillips Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Service of Remembrance with Military honors will be held at 11 am on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial in the family plot will follow in St. Luke's Cemetery in Beacon.
