James “Jimmy” Lane, a resident of the area since 2004, died following a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was 68.
The son of the late Thomas J. and Mary F. Ford Lane, Jimmy was born on October 1, 1950 in Flushing Queens, NY. He worked as a sales manager for Harley Davidson Motorcycles for over 30 years. He married Catherine Forte on November 24, 2002. Jimmy was a motorcycle icon and over the years has created incredible relationships with customers. He is a greatly loved father, husband, and wonderful grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved life and lived it to the fullest with his family and friends. Jimmy Lane never met a stranger.
In addition to his wife Catherine, the love of his life, at home, Jimmy is survived by his six children, his son James T. Lane Jr and his wife Jennifer of Olive Branch, MS, Stephanie Pacinella and her husband Vincent of Waterford, NY, John Moeller Jr and his wife Jennifer of Westtown, NY, Michael Moeller and his husband Tobin of NYC, Amy Samman and her husband Rommie of Westtown, NY and William Moeller and his wife Nicole of Greenville, NY. He is also survived by his brothers, Thomas K. Lane of Carlsbad, CA and Richard Lane of Bernardsville, NJ and a sister, Maureen Lane of East Rutherford, NJ and his beloved grandchildren, Jimmy, Nicole, Lydia, Alana, Juliann, Matthew, Emmalee, Gabriella, Elias, Zachary and Layla and two cherished great-grandchildren, Layklynn Marie and Averyanna Grace, a niece Meghan and nephew Patrick and his faithful dog, Rocky.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Monday, December 10, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown, NY 10940. Cremation will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Way, Memphis, TN 31805.
