James Towers
James J. Towers, a lifelong resident of the Middletown area, passed away a8er an intense 3-year battle with
cancer on August 28, 2022. He was 60 years old.
The son of Albert J. and Hazel Ogden Towers, he was born in Middletown on October 22, 1961.
His family and friends will always remember how he showed his love by helping in any way he could. He had a
passion to create, his spirit was wise, powerful and strong. He loved being outdoors, fishing with his son, and being with his family. He enjoyed running, cycling and building / fixing anything with his tools. His children benefited from his athletic skills as he often coached their basketball teams and guided them through baseball and bowling. He was such a talented and smart man.
He graduated from MHS Class of ‘79 and worked as a sheet metal worker for Local 38 in Brewster.
Jim was a parishioner and a 7 a.m. Mass participant at St. Joseph’s Church in Middletown, NY.
He is survived by his children; Christna Sanchez-Towers, her husband Newton and grandson Jayden of
Rutherford, New Jersey, his son James A. Towers of Milford, PA, his former wife and mother of his children,
Rina Cleary, his girlfriend, Sue Taub and his devoted brother-in-law Alfred Keene. He is further survived by his sisters Jean M Towers and Tina M Towers Rivera. and his brothers John E.Towers and Albert Towers.
He was predeceased by his sister Kathryn J Keene.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 2, 2022 from 4pm-7pm.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 6:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers you can make a donation to the American Cancer Society in Jim's name.
