James “Jim” H. Judd, a lifetime area resident, died on Sunday, July 6, 2014 following a short illness at Westchester Medical Cener in Valhalla. He was 78.
The son of the late Stanley and Josephine Shaltens Judd, he was born on August 22, 1935 in Middletown. Jim was a graduate of MHS .He married Dolores Hulsapple, who predeceased him in 1975. He worked for Orange County Dept. of Public Works until his retirement in 1990.
Jim’s family will fondly remember his ability to fix anything. He was a good worker who always kept himself busy. He enjoyed his dogs, his family and Sunday dinners and all family holiday gatherings. Jim also liked playing scratch offs and lotto, and was very lucky. He frequented the End of the Line Deli, where he was a favored customer. His sudden illness and passing will sadden many who loved him.
He is survived by his four children, Sheree Biro and her husband Gabe, Susan Barker and her husband Russell of Slate Hill, James of Greenville and John and his companion Dawn Temple of Unionville; two daughters, brother, Thomas and his wife Helen of Atlanta, GA; sister, Joann Hall and her husband Charles of Winter Park, FL; and five beloved grandchildren, Jason, Shaina, Russell, Branden, and Evan and one great-grandchild, Xavier as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Service will be held at 8 pm onWednesday evening at the funeral home.
Cremation will be private and burial of ashes will take place in the family plot in Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery.
Visitation hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Service will be held at 8 pm onWednesday evening at the funeral home.
