James Giacalone of Middletown NY, died on Tuesday December 28 at Middletown Park Manor Middletown, NY. He was 90.
The son of the late Mateo and Catherine Palmeri Giacalone, he was born on November 23, 1920 in Brooklyn. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of St. John of Arc Roman Catholic Church in Sloatsburg, where he resided until recently.
James is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary at home; his sons, Matthew and his companion, Theresa Menke of Ailo, Hawaii and Charles and his wife Barbara of Cathage, TN; his daughters, Mary F. Warren and her husband Andy of Middletown, Catherine Mead and her husband Russell of Green Valley, , and Teresa of South Windsor, CT; one sister, Mary Tilleli of Buffalo; six beloved grandchildren, Ameila, Lea, Sydney, Corinne, Sylvia and Michael; and one great-grandchild Jackson.
Visitation hours will be held today, December 29, 2010 from 2 to 4 pm at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highald Avenue, Middletown, NY, 10940. A Funeral Service of Remembrance will be held at 3:30 pm at the funeral home today, Wednesday; Fr. Frank Dias will officiate. Cremation will be private.
