James C. Moore, a lifetime area resident, died unexpectedly on September 23, 2014 at Orange Regional Medical Center. He was 68.
The son of Frances E. Young and Clyde C. Moore, he was born in Middletown, NY on September 22, 1946. Jim was a quiet and thoughtful man who served our country in the U.S. Airforce from 1964-68 after he graduated from Middletown High School. Jim was a talented artist and often showed his work at O.C.C.C. and the Orange County Fair. As evidenced in his paintings was his appreciation of nature. From beautiful wooded scenes to his love of birds and animals he was able to celebrate his surroundings through his artistic ability.
He is survived by his former wife, caring companion and best friend, Ginny Moore of Middletown, stepson, Kim Olsen and his wife Vicki of Butler, NJ; sisters, Judith Carr and her husband Edward of Westbrookville, and Kathie Walsh of Port Jervis; grandson, Maxwell; three nephews, Edward, James and Thomas and niece Sara; and cousins, Barbara and Cecile.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 28 from 5 to 8 pm at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Service will be held at 7 pm at the funeral home, Rev. Katie Torea Rivera will officiate.
Following cremation, burial of ashes will take place in Orange County Veterans cemetery on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 3:00 pm.
