Obituary for Isabel Theodora Garcia
Isabel T. Garcia, adored mother and grandmother, died after a long illness at her home on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, surrounded by her whole family. She was 94 years old.
The daughter of the late Fidel and Maria Zunga Delgado, she was born on October 2, 1927 in Axutia, Puebla, Mexico. She married Graciano Garcia, and in 1982, they moved to the United States with their children. She kept a warm and welcoming home while her family established vital businesses to serve the Spanish community in the City of Middletown. Isabel was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Middletown.
She was a content and happy mother who sang all the time. Always there for her children, they considered her "the Best Mom in the World". She loved her faith, to be with the kids, cooking and to go shopping. Isabel taught her family to be faithful, loving and hard working by her example.
Isabel is survived by her loving children; one son, Alvaro, daughters, Eloina Delgado, Luz Maria Garcia, Elia Merino, Yolanda Robles, Silvia Garia, Elenex Garcia Gutierrez as well as 22 cherished grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Graciano in 2007 and her son Leo in 2016.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc,
130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Friday, May 13, 2022
at St. Joseph's Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown, NY 10940. Entombment in the family mausoleum will follow in Hillside Cemetery in Middletown.
