Irving Vance Hunter of Bloomingburg died Thursday, January 31, 2013. He was 59 years old. The son of the late George Paul and Brenda Chandler Hunter, he was born on August 2, 1953 in Brooklyn, NY.
Irving was a hard worker who always made sure he provided for his family. He was a great husband and father who often worked two jobs to take care of his wife and children. He was a huge Miami Dolphin fan and loved Elvis. His new passion was his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Irving attended Transformation Church in Scotchtown.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ramona D. Ostrom Hunter, who he married on July 17, 1988; his son, Irving Vance Hunter, Jr. and his wife, Sandra of Ohio; his daughters: Corrina Schrufer and her husband, Thad of Otisville and Elyse Hunter and her boyfriend, Sidney Smallwood, Jr. of Bloomingburg; his brothers: Conrad of New York, Richard, Ronald and Donald, all of Long Island; his sisters: Brenda Hunter of Newburgh and Audrey Hunter of Long Island and five grandchildren: Marquez, Jarid, Eliana, Hanna and Julia.
Visitation hours are from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Ave., Middletown, NY, 10940. A Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery.
