Hilda Strachan, beloved mother, sister, grandmother and greatgrandmother, passed away peacefuly at home on Wednesday, June 25, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She was 83.
The daughter of George and Ethel Galbraith Grey, she was born on September 12, 1929 in Jamaica.
Hilda leaves a loving family including her four sons; Lloyd and his wife Valarie and Anthony all of Jamaica, Neville and his wife Angela and Norris and his wife Denise all of Middletown; six daughters, Elaine Binns and her husband Talbert, Beverly Green and her husband Rennick, Hyacinth Reeves, Jennifer Maxwell and her husband Derrick, Fay Sang and her husband Everton, and Pauline Strachan all of Middletown; two brothers, Ephraim and Harthnel; sister Mirabell; twenty eight grandchildren, Opal, Jillian, Stacy, Marcus, Lingus, Marvin, Kevin, Nick, O’Shane, Shawn, DeLano, Rohan, Shannon, Akeem, Michael, Mya, Shadae, Shasha, Dean, Suki, Kiki, Whitney,Hossien, Marvin, Keifer, Carl, Jr, Nestea and 20 great-grandchildren.
Visitation hours are from 2 to 4 on Monday, July 1, 2013at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Service will be held at 4 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in the family cemetery in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
