Helen Savona of Middletown died December 3, 2009 at Orange Regional Medical Center, following a long illness and having been cared for at home by her loving family as she wished. She was born March 8, 1936 to the late Paul and Anna Sutton McGee in Philadelphia, PA. Helen was also known as “Honey” “Aunt Honey” and “Grandma Honey”. She was revered by her entire family and respected by all. She provided advice and comfort when many of her family members experienced difficult times. Her strength was extraordinary and recognized. Her courage will always be remembered.
Helen is survived by her son Thomas Jr. and his wife Jeanne of Cincinnati, Ohio, daughter Teresa and her husband Kent of Middletown, five grandchildren Tracy Ann and Stephen “ Stevie”, Dylan, Mark and Sheryl, and four great grandchildren Chelsea, Lorraine, Cameron and Tate. She was predeceased by her husband
Thomas and three sisters Kathleen Regan, Anne Reilly and Rose Pogozelski.
Visitation hours are 2-4 and 6-8 Sunday December 6, at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc. 130 Highland Ave. Middletown, NY 10940. A funeral Service will be held at 7:30PM at he funeral home. Cremation will be private and at the convenience of the family.
