Obituary for Helen M Galasso
Helen Galasso, of Middletown NY passed away peacefully at Park Manor Nursing Home on Sunday January 16th 2022, with her daughter by her side. She was 91 years old.
The daughter of Richard and Rose Wilkinson. Helen was born on June 21, 1930 in Brooklyn New York where she was raised by her grandparents with her older sister Dorothy Aggerup.
Helen met her late husband, Angelo Galasso in New York while working as a secretary at Marnock Luggage Company. After sweeping her off her feet, they later married and resided in New Jersey. Helen worked for Holy Name Hospital as a home health aide later in her life. While her loss brings sadness to our family, it also brings comfort knowing she is at peace and with her late husband, and loved ones.
She was a sassy, fun loving Irish English woman who loved to talk, watch her Hallmark movies and most importantly adored her family. Some of her hobbies included sewing, crocheting, knitting, reading fiction novels, and doing puzzles. Other favorites of hers were her kitty cats, drinking her favorite teas and eating sweets. Always smiled and looked at the bright side of all circumstances. The truest, kindest, most authentic soul that will be missed dearly.
She is survived by her four loving daughters, two sons, twelve grandchildren, seven great grand children and two nieces.
May she rest in Eternal peace and continue to shine with her bright light and love within our hearts.
Services will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, from 10AM-12PM at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940
Burial to follow at George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery, 234 Paramus Road, Paramus, NJ 07652
In lieu of flowers, a donation toward a Veteran’s Charity would be greatly appreciated.
