Helen was born on July 8, 1917 in Middletown, NY and on July 25, 2012, this very special lady Helen Fay went to join her parents, Frank and Catharine Salvati, sisters Ruth Welch, Rose Brown and brother, Frank (Sonny), her granddaughter, Dawn Marie, her husband John J. Fay and son-in-law Daniel Marino, with our Lord in Heaven.
Helen has left many to remember her with love; daughter JoAnn Marino and her companion Dick Ludwick, and daughter Barbara Ford and her husband Dean Ford. She was Gram to five grandchildren; Brian Ford and his wife Stephanie, Daniel Marino, Steven Ford and his wife Kathie, Dean Ford Jr. and his companion, Gina. She was Nanny to fifteen great-grandchildren, Brett and his wife Meghan, Jaimie and her husband Dean, Darrell and companion Janine, Tyler and Jillian and their mother, Kristin, Jasio, Chloe, Lauren, Julenne, Brian Jr., Kyle and Jordonna . Helen was also blessed with five great-great grandchildren, Calleigh, Abigail and Zoe,Carter and Hudson. She is also survived by four nephews; Richard Welch and his wife Dorothy, James Brown and his wife Linda, Michael Welch and his wife Tina and Frankie Salvati.
We all have many special memories of Mom, Gram or Nanny. She would bake a birthday cake for each and every one of us. She would call each person and ask which cake they would like since everyone had a favorite. She always liked knitting; be it an afghan, scarf, pot holder, doll blanket or hats. She had a garden until two years ago. She made pickles, tomato sauce and pumpkin flowers. She was constantly doing jigsaw puzzles, making one of her famous delicacies for her family- but her special talent was always her jams.
According to her wishes, cremation was private. A Celebration of Helen's Life will be held at a later date.
