Harvey A. Schauer entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 26, 2021, at Middletown Park Manor in Middletown, N.Y. He was 89.
The son of George and Sadie Runnalls Schaeur, he was born on December 26, 1931, in Port Jervis, NY He was married to Dawn I. Schauer for 68 years.
Harvey proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, serving on the USS Wasp and the USS Midway during the Korean War. He attended RIT School for American Craftsmen and worked for Wilkins Cabinet Shop, as well as Orange County Department of Public Works Wood Shop.
Harvey is survived by his daughters, Dawn L. Forthoffer (Gary) and Cindy Sweeney (Kenneth) and his grandchildren, Emily Tomkins (Paul), Kenny Sweeney (Alanna), Kevin Sweeney (Catherine).
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, with Visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. and a Funeral Service of Remembrance immediately following at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Peter Rustico officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot at Wallkill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. John’s Lutheran Church, 391 Mount Hope Rd. Middletown, N.Y. 10940.
