Harry Thomas Bunting formerly of Middletown, NY, passed away unexpectedly on January 25th, 2018 at Prince George County Hospital in Maryland.
The son of the late Richard Bunting and Edna Myers Bunting, he was born on October 11, 1949 in Middletown, NY. Harry graduated from Middletown High School and on his 18th birthday, he was drafted into the U.S. Army. He served in the Vietnam War and earned a Purple Heart. Upon coming home, he met Nancy Weigele and they were married and shared their lives together until her death in 2016. Harry worked at Horton Memorial Hospital and the United States Postal Service, where he was still employed at the time of his death. Harry was a hard working, devoted family man who loved fishing, stamp collecting and reading. His most pride and joy were his daughter, Rebecca and his grandsons, Ryan and Roan.
Harry is survived by his brother, Richard Bunting, sisters, Sandra Vedell and her husband, Robert of Cary, NC, Linda Giesser of Middletown, NY, Elizabeth Horton and her husband, James of Maryville, TN, and Jeanne Bunting of Middletown, NY. He is also survived by his brother in law, David Weigele of Middletown and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by his in-laws, Harold and Marjorie Weigele and his brother in laws, Horst Giesser and Paul Weigele.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Otisville Presbyterian Church in Otisville. Rev. Jeffrey Farley will officiate.
