Harry E. Doerr Jr, 79, of Middletown, New York, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2011 in ORMC- Horton Campus. The son of the late Harry E. and Katherine Fleury Doerr, he was born on August 2, 1931 in Brooklyn, New York. Harry was a Pension Manager with Ingersoll Rand Co., retiring after 45 years of service.
He was a devoted husband, loving father, and former Marine who proudly served in Korea. Harry was an avid fan of his beloved NY Giants, NY Mets, and NY Rangers.
Harry is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Mary Fitzsimons Doerr; three sons, Michael Doerr and his wife Deborah of Bloomingburg, Thomas Doerr of Basking Ridge, NJ and Kenneth Doerr at home; three daughters, Kathleen Dies of Middletown, NY, Laurie Damiano and her husband Lorenzo of Midland Park, NJ and Kellie Levin and her husband Steven of Goshen, New York. He is also survived by 12 Grandchildren; Errol, Michael, Jacob, Kathryn, Christopher, Brianne, Erika, Casey, Karli, Marissa, Stephanie and Cameron and 4 Great Grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 1, 2011 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 90 Euclid Ave., Middletown. Burial will take place at the Orange County Veterans Cemetery, 111 Craigville Road, Goshen, New York. www.applebee-: mcphillips.com
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
