Obituary for Harold W. Crane
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Harold W. Crane on May 3, 2021. He was 83.
The son of the late Paul and Olive Wheeler Crane, he was born in Carbondale, PA on October 16, 1937, the youngest of their ten children. He enlisted in the US Air Force in May of 1957 and served his Country for four years. He married the love of his life, Jeanette Bucholtz on December 26, 1964 in Nanticoke, PA and together they raised three children and enjoyed all the benefits of parenthood.
Harold was extremely musically talented and played trombone in various bands and orchestras, entertaining family, friends and countless audiences . He truly loved the Big Band era and the hits of that time. He was a meticulous and motivated man who worked as a licensed funeral director, therapy aide at Middletown Psychiatric Center and as a bus driver before he finally retired. After retirement, he and Jeanette wintered in Florida and enjoyed spending time here with their three grandchildren.
In addition to his loving wife, Jeanette at home, he is survived by his two sons, Mark and his wife Charlene of Shrewsbury, MA and Brian of Middletown and one daughter, Judy Demetres and her husband David of Bloomingburg. He also leaves a brother, Ronald Crane of Fort Lauderdale, FL, sisters, Connie Waddell and her husband Benton of CA and Virginia Price of Marshalls Creek, PA and three grandchildren, Peter, Allison and Kacey, as well as several nieces and nephews.
