Harold C. "Hap" Hamilton of Little River, SC, formerly of Middletown, died July 1, 2011 surrounded by his family. Born in Brooklyn to the late William and Annie Marie Anderson Hamilton on December 25, 1915, he was 95 years old.
He will always be remembered as a good husband and father who provided for his family. He was independent and strong willed and was always loyal to all his responsibilities. Hap was a member of Boilermakers Local 5, Hoffman Masonic Lodge #412, Morton Hill Hunting Club, and a charter member of the Bloomingburg Fire Department.
Hap is survived by his son Harry and his wife Kathleen of Middletown, daughters Patricia Mowery and her husband David of Calabash NC, Carole Lybolt and her husband Roland of Middletown, Elaine Barnes and her husband Ronald of Middletown and Merri Jo Guattery and her husband Stephen of Farmington, NM, ten grandchildren Kris, Mark, Matthew, Harry, Douglas, Amy, Joseph, Jeremy, Jenna and Regina and thirteen great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife Regina in 1990, brothers George, Bill, Robert, Arthur and sister Tillie.
Visitation will be 7-9 Thursday July 7, at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc. 130 Highland Ave. Middletown, NY 10940. Funeral service of Remembrance will be held at the funeral home 10AM Friday, July 8. Burial will follow in the family plot in Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery, Bloomingburg, NY. Memorial contributions in Hap’s name may be made to the Guild of St. Margaret, 12 Depot Street, Middletown, NY, 10940.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home.
