Gordon John Sbarbaro, a retired lithographer, died on June 12, 2013 at Orange Regional Medical Center. He was 90 years old.
The son of the late John and Victoria Caccurna, he was born on April 13, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY. Gordon proudly served as a medical technician in the U.S. Army during World War II as part of the 221st Airborne Medical Company. A family statement by his loving daughter, Leslie reads, “My father, Gordon Sbarbaro, was a hard-working, responsible and loving soul who spent most of his life loving and taking care of my mother, Fran Sbarbaro, and me…through health and sickness. Dad was a lithographer by trade, an exceptional cook and a swinging dancer. I have so many wonderful memories of the joyous times we all shared.”
His daughter Leslie Lees of Middletown survives Gordon.
Visitation hours are from 12 to 1 pm on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of Christan Burial will be celebrated at 1 pm at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church , 90 Euclid Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. Burial with Military honors will follow in Orange County Veterans Cemetery, 111 Craigville Road, Goshen, NY 10924.
