Gordon Bertholf, a longtime resident of Middletown, entered into eternal life on Friday, January 24, 2014 at home, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was 74.
The son of the late Gertrude Evelyn Rose and Corwin Howell Bertholf, Jr., Gordon was born on April 9, 1939 in Middletown. Quiet, cool and collected, he was a humble retiree of the State who loved fishing, photography, jazz, the outdoors, and his friends and family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen, his four daughters, Shanelle, Julie, Caressa and Stacey, and his two sons Damian and Miles. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Talia, Destiny, and JaCory; his two sisters, Phyllis Davis and Christina Bertholf and several nieces, nephews and a huge extended family.
He was predeceased by his parents and one brother, Bruce Bertholf.
Visitation hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Christian Faith Fellowship Church, M and M Road, Middletown, NY 10940. Burial will take place in the family plot in Wallkill Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements are under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc. www.applebee-mcphillips.com
