Gloria Prado of Otisville, died after a short illness on Sunday October 18 at home. She was 58.
The daughter of the late Richard E. and Marjorie Chapman Knibbs, Gloria was born on February 26, 1951 in Cornwall, NY. She married Albert Prado on July 1, 1976 in Warwick, and were able to share 33 happy years together.
A devoted Mom and wife, Gloria was a "real lady". She was thoughtful and generous. She always put her family first and was a great cook and meticulous hostess. She loved gardening and was blessed with many artistic abilities. She will be remembered by her loved ones as a strong willed, non-complainer with a positive outlook.
In addition to her best friend and loving husband, Albert, she is survived by her beloved daughter, Emily Anne Prado at home; brothers David Knibbs and his wife Laura of New Hampton, Richard and Mark of Highland Mills; and his sister Gayle Lombardo of Bloomingburg as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by one brother, William as well as her parents.
Visitation hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 am on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 45 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY. Following the Mass, cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory,
Middle Hope.
