Gloria Madgeline Bandelt, longtime resident of Middletown died April 13, 2010 at St. Teresa's Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family. She was 86 years old. Gloria was born in New Orleans, L.A. on October 25, 1923 to the late Alcede and Louise St. Ann Perez.
Gloria was a devoted mom who loved preparing meals and celebrating holidays with her family. Her faith and courage was instilled in all of her children. The grandchildren and great grandchildren will always have fond memories of this cherished matriarch.
She is survived by her five sons Charles of Queens, Thomas and his wife Dianne of Bogotá, NJ. , James and his fiancée Joanne of Middletown, Michael of Lords Valley, PA. and John of Easton, IL., two daughters Dorothy Pistone of Middletown, and Barbara Bandelt of Lake Arial, PA and two daughters-in-law, Peachie Bandelt and Cathy Danzeisen. Gloria is also survived by her thirteen grandchildren Joseph, Christina, Daniel, Angela, J.R., Matthew, Megan, Kristie, Jamie, James, Joshua, T.J., and Christopher as well as sixteen great-grandchildren. Gloria was predeceased by her sisters Dorothy and Evelyn.
Visitation hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Thursday April 15, 2010 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc. 130 Highland Ave. Middletown, NY 10940. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11 am on Friday April 16, at St. Joseph’s R. C. Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown, NY, Fr. John Budwick will officiate. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
