Gloria J. Char, a longtime resident of Middletown died Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Garnet Hospital. She was 90 years old.
The daughter of Incornata and Pasquale Bellucco, she was born on July 30, 1930 in Bronx, NY.
She was retired from Shop Rite. She was a generous person and always thought of, and cared about others. She loved going to casinos and vacationing at Long Beach Island with her husband. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her son, Karl and his wife, Linda of Middletown and her grandson, Bryan of Middletown.
In addition to her parents, Gloria was predeceased by her husband Edward Char, brothers Michael, Philip, Vincent, Joseph, Morris and Louis, sisters Antoinette, Lucy, Angie and Jennie, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will held be from 12pm to 2pm on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, 130 Highland Ave. Middletown, with a Service of Remembrance at 1:30 pm. Due to the current pandemic, visitors are limited to 25 guests at a time. Burial will be private, and take place on Friday morning at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 149 Cottage St., Middletown, NY, in the family plot. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are made under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc. www.applebee-mcphillips.com.
