Giuseppe Caruso, a retired Special Education Teacher for Dutchess County BOCES, died at Vassar Brother’s Hospital on Saturday, August 31, 2013. He was 70 years old.
He was the beloved son of Pellegrina Sorice and the late Andrea Caruso. Giuseppe was born on December 22, 1942 in Avella, Italy.
A caring father who adored his children and grandchildren. He always wanted the best for his family and they all benefited from his great sense of humor, his confidence and his vast knowledge. He loved to garden and took great delight in sharing his harvest with many others .
Giuseppe is survived by his loving mother, Josephine Pellegrina Caruso, his wife Ruslana Caruso, his cherished children, Angela Caruso-Carlini and her husband Brian, Andre Caruso and his wife Nicole , Olga Caruso-Sullivan and his seven grandchildren who brought such great joy to his life;
David Sullivan, Isabella and Briana Carlini, Jack, Gina, Gianni, Giuseppe Olson-Caruso and many colleagues and friends.
Visitation will take place on Monday, September 2, 2013 (Labor Day) from 2-4 and 7-9 with Evening Prayers at 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 3 at 11:00 at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. John Budwick officiating.
Entombment will follow in Our Lady Queen of Peace Mausoleum in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 49 Cottage Street, Middletown, NY. Donations in Giuseppe’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 419 East Main Street, Middletown, NY 10940.
