Gilles Goudreau, a resident in the area since 1974 and formerly of North Tarrytown, New York died after a short illness at O.R.M.C. on June 11, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was 83.
The son of Thomas and Marie Houde Goudreau, he was born on October 6. 1934 in St. Jacques Majeur, Canada.
He married Gilberte Cyr in 1959 in Hawthorne, New York. Together, they raised four children and celebrated 59 years of marriage.
He was a hard worker who enjoyed watching hockey in his spare time.
He is survived by his wife, Gilberte (Gil) of Middletown, three sons; Glenn (Tammy) of Pine Bush, Gary (Deborah) of Walker Valley, New York, Scott (Christine) of Bloomingburg, one daughter, Michelle Goudreau of Walker Valley, four brothers; Denis (Clairna) of Middletown, Jacques ( Pierrette) of Quebec, Canada, Zotique (Jocelyn) of Ontario, Canada, and Rejean of Sherbrook, Canada. He is also survived by two sisters; Lyne Cotois, of Sherbrooke, Canada and Suzelle Goudreau of Sherbrooke, Canada, 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister Huguette Beaudoin.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, June 14, 2018 from 5 to 7 P.M. at the Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, June 15 at 11 A.M. at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown, New York.
Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home.
