Gilbert Giraud, a longtime area resident died in the care of his loving family at home on Saturday, April 29, 2017. He was 82.
The son of the late Gilbert and Angela Cruz-Munoz Giraud, he was born on September 14, 1934 in Lares, Puerto Rico. He married Rose Marie Vasquez married March 26, 1965 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Gil was a proud family man who took great joy in his grandchildren. He loved nature and being outdoors, and listening to salsa music. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, who he fondly called the Bronx Bombers. He was a history buff and loved antique cars.
He is survived by his loving wife at home, and his two sons, Keith and his wife Vicki and Mark and one daughter Tara Carillo and her husband John, all of Middletown, and his loving grandchildren, Samantha, Scott, Corvin, Everly and Zaya and one on the way.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940.
