Obituary for Geraldine Holterman
Geraldine Holterman, a beloved Mom and Grandma, died at Garnet Medical Center on May 24, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was 77 years old.
The oldest of three children born to Gaetano and Helen Calbo Rufo, Gerri was born on September 5, 1944 to in the Bronx. She married John Holterman on April 13, 1969 and together they moved from Yonkers to Middletown to raise their two children.
Gerri worked at Middletown Medical as a billing clerk and loved the staff and physicians she worked with.
She was a dedicated Mom and Grandmother who loved spending time with her family, going out to eat and visiting casinos.
Gerri is survived by her two children, Denise Hundeland and her husband Kurt and Rob Holterman, cherished Grandchildren; Rebecca Holterman and Joey Hundeland, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband and soulmate, John in 2013 and her brother Peter Rufo and sister Maria DeVasto.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 at Applebee McPhillips Funeral Home, 130 Highland Ave., Middletown, NY 10940
A Funeral Service of Remembrance will be celebrated on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 10:00 am at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the family plot at Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, NY.
Because of the care they provided to her beloved husband John, memorial contributions in Gerri’s name may be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550. To honor Gerri’s memory, spend some time at a casino, she will be smiling down on you.
