Obituary for Georgia Drew

Georgia Drew

Middletown, N.Y.

Georgia Drew, a longtime resident and beloved wife , mom and grandparent, died after a long illness at Garnet Medical Center on September 29, 2022. She was 83.

The daughter of Jerome and Martha Ford Schultz, she was born in Osawatomie Kasass on June 12, 1939. She married her soulmate, Richard Drew and together they raised four children , were blessed with four grandchildren and celebrated 63 years of marriage!

Georgia was the ultimate homemaker; she loved being home with family and was adept at creating beautiful crafts. She could sew, cross-stich, cook and garden and we all shared in the benefits of her talents. She was an avid reader, was proud of her Irish heritage and was an enthusiastic fan of the Green Bay Packers. Of all the things that were her pleasure, her grandchildren would come up in first place. They were her pride and joy and meant the world to her.

Georgia is survived by her husband, Richard, her children; sons, Richard and James Drew., Gina Stellato and her husband Richard, Sherri Drew and her husband Michael Diaz and her four cherished grandchildren, Kayleigh, Ashleigh, Taylor and Skyler, her sister Helen and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Margaret Drew, brothers; Bill, Stanley and Jim, sisters; Grace and Dorruth.

The family is grateful to the staff at Montgomery Nursing Facility for their care of Georgia. As per her wishes, services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, 130 Highland Ave. Middletown, N.Y. apple-mcphillips.com
