George Shaver, a loving family man, free spirit and entrepreneur, died after a battle with COVID-19 on September 22, 2021, at Vassar Brothers Hospital. He was 75 years old.
The son of Mildred Jorgenson and Wiley F. Shaver Jr., he was born in Riverside, California on December 6, 1945.
George was a man who was full of life. He loved his kids, always worked hard, and lived his life to the fullest. He was a creative business man throughout his life with many revolutionary ideas. George was spontaneous, fun, and left the family with many stories of his humor, courage and ability to overcome challenges. He will be sorely missed.
George is survived by his brother Wiley (Margarette) of El Cajon, CA and his five children: Gregory (Erin) Hutto, Texas, Eric (Regina) of Cornwall, New York, Jeffrey (Angeline) of White Plains, New York, Jordan (Fiancée Lauren Sperling) of Wilmington, Delaware and Amy Shaver of Hamden, Connecticut. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren: Tristien, Paige, Jillian, Henry, Jackson, Julia, Reagan, Aliegh, Nathaniel, Amelia, and Gabriel. George is also survived by his former wives Karen Banks and Barbara Shaver. His friend Cris Turner and faithful dog Jodo will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, from 4 to 6 P.M. with a service of Remembrance at 5:30 P.M. at the Applebee-McPhillips in Middletown, NY.
