George M. Carey

George M. Carey, a retired distributor for the Coca-Cola company, died at home after a brief illness on September 18, 2020 surrounded by his devoted family. He was 74 yrs. old.
The son of Verona and Myrtle Stinett Carey, he was born in Staten Island on January 24, 1946. He married his soulmate and best friend, Janet Putney in 1967 and together they raised four children. They moved to Greenville N.Y. in 1979 to provide their family with a more “countrylike” setting. Their new surroundings enabled George to coach Little League for all the kids and enjoy hunting and fishing in his spare time. He was a patient, friendly and a mild-mannered man who will be missed by many.
He is survived by his loving wife. Janet at home, their children, Richard and his wife, Christine,Michael and his wife Ina, George and Lisa Graziano and her husband Michael; seven cherished grandchildren; Olivia, Kameryn, Julia,Logan Madeline Braelyn and Eliya as well as three brothers-in -law , three sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, September 24 from 1-3pm at the funeral home with
a funeral Service of Remembrance at 2:30pm. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to his hospice nurses, Laurel and Laurie for their extraordinary care.
