Gene Malloy of Middletown NY, died on Sunday October 18 at St. Teresa’s Nursing Home in Middletown. She was 95.
The daughter of the late Alfred E. and Wilhelmina Kruger Reed, she was born on November 25, 1913 in Middletown. Gene married W. Terry Malloy on October 14, 1939 at St. Paul's Methodist Church in Middletown. She worked as Registered Nurse for Middletown State Hospital, but cared for many people in need throughout her lifetime. She was a very organized woman and avid reader. Her life was enriched by the many loving relationships she developed over the years.
Gene was predeceased by her beloved husband on May 2, 2003 and her loving brother, Richard Reed and his wife Ruth earlier this year.
She is survived by her son, Richard R. Malloy and his companion, Geradine Beissel, their family and extended family members.
Visitation hours are from 7 to 9 pm on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 am at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 21, 2009. Burial will follow in Wallkill Cemetery, Midway Road, Middletown.
