Obituary for Gary K. Bowker
Gary K. Bowker, a resident of the area since 1985, died following a brief illness at Sapphire Nursing Home in Goshen, NY. He was 81.
The son of the late Melvin and Iona Hughes Bowker, he was born on January 20, 1939 in Freemont, OH. Gary proudly served his Country in the U.S. Navy. He worked as an accountant and chief financial officer for his own company and for National Parts Depot in Chester, NY. He married Lauren Bray on September 15, 1985 in West Nyack, NY.
Gary was a true and decent gentleman. He was kind, independent and had a great sense of humor. His good nature made him a great friend to many and he will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his loving wife, Lauren at home, Gary is survived by his son, Michael and his cherished granddaughter, Allie as well as three nieces Samantha, Merideth and Lauren.
Cremation was private, graveside services with Military honors will be held at a later date.
