Obituary for Gary A LaBagh
Gary LaBagh (BZ) a lifelong resident of Middletown NY, entered into rest on August 8,2022 surrounded by his loving family.
He was the son of the late George and Evelyn LaBagh. He was 66 years old. Born on November 22, 1955.
Owner operator of BZ Trucking and Gary LaBagh & sons. He was called "Rusty Wheel" by family and friends in the industry.
He was an avid fisherman, hunter and camper.
Gary's greatest passion was racing. His career began with motor cross in his younger years and would transition into modified racing in the tri-state area.
In 1985, quoted by Area Auto, "they have been referring to him lately as the Bounty Hunter around the Orange County Fair Speedway, and maybe for a good reason. He carries a "38 Special (his car number) around with him, is quick on the draw and always prepared for the big one."
He went on to have many career wins and a track championship in1985 and would return for a couple years in 2006 and 2007 in the sportsmen division.
Gary would go on to mentor his sons in their racing careers as well as anyone else who needed a helping hand.
He was at Nostalgia night at OCFS on June 4, 2022 his son surprised him with a throw back of Gary's old "Baby Blue".
Gary was a loving father and so very proud of all of his children. He was the life of the party and loved all of his family and friends. He will be forever in our hearts.
Gary is survived by his loving wife, Kim, his Daughter Tara Adler and her husband Danny of Edgewater, NJ, Trevor Dillan and Jared LaBagh all of Middletown NY Three brothers, James Strait (Gloria) of Wurtsboro, Edward J. LaBagh (Carolea) of South Carolina, Kenneth LaBagh (Vicky Kennedy) and sister, Joyce Polus of Bloomingburg . He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jada and Aliyah Adler and several nieces and nephews and many friends.
Besides his parents, Gary was predeceased by his brothers, George LaBagh Jr. and, Ricky Strait.
Visitation for Gary will take place at the Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home on Monday, August 15. 2022 from 4-8 pm and a
Celebration Of Life on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 11am.
Burial will take place in the family plot in Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery, Bloomingburg, N.Y.
