Middletown, NY

Gail Marie Shoemaker Lazier of Middletown, passed away peacefully with her family at her side at Kaplan Family Hospice Residence in Newburgh. She was 65.

The daughter of the late Harold C. and Rose Berg Shoemaker, she was born on August 30, 1947 in Goshen, NY. Gail was a 1965 graduate of Middletown High School and worked as a C.N.A. for many years at Orange County Infrimary in Goshen.

A family statement reads, “Our mother was a lioness with a huge heart and a zest for life. Through her journeys, mom’s driving force was her chikdren and her grandchildren. She was known to cross barriers and boundaries to make sure her family was happy, healthy, and above all, loved. May you lindy with the angels, Mom!”

In addition to her parents, Gail was recently predeceased by her beloved friend and sister, Karen Brown.

She is survived by her daughters, Lisa (Eggelton) Pesola and her husband Nick and their children Nicholas and Katerina of Middletown and Gail (Eggelton) Ippolito and Natividad Santos and their children James, Rocco, Angelina and Johnny of Middleburg, FL and her sons, Heath Eggelton and his wife Dawn and their children, Heath, Jr, Ashley and Zachary of Middleburg, FL, Russell Lazier, Jr of Middletown; great-granddaughter, Abigail; special nephews, Kyle and Kayne Garrison; and her dear friend, Maggie Fayo.

Cremation will be private at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope. Arrangements are under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc.
