Froilan Flores of Middletown, died on Tuesday January 9 at O.R.M.C. Horton Campus Middletown, NY. He was 87.
The son of Manuel and Amelia Flores he was born on January 11, 1919 in Apurimac, Peru. He was married to Eufemia Valdez for 50 years.
A family statement reads: “ Froilan worked very hard to raise his children and was very happy for them to be here in the United States. He was the best father. He loved gardening and children, but most of all, spending time with his family.He was very loving and compassionate to everyone he knew. His grandchildren were the pride and joy of his life. We will remember him as always happy, always smiling.”
Froilan is survived by his wife, Eufemia, at home, his loving children, Teresa Vignola and her husband Christopher of Greenville, Carlos Flores and his wife, Rosario of Middletown, Javier Flores and his companion Patricia of Newburgh, and Miguel Flores and his wife Jhodit of Middletown; brother Zosimo Flores and his wife Julia of Lima, Peru; and nine beloved grandchildren, Kathy, Johnny, Thomas, Carlos, William, Christian, Rosie, Andrew, and Miguelito, niece Virginia DeVarennes and her husband George, and many other nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by four brothers, Eduardo, Porfirio, Humberto and Sixto, and three sisters, Agripina, Regina and Luisa.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2007 from 7 to 9 pm at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc. 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A funeral mass will be held Friday, January 12 at 11:00 AM at St. Josephs Roman Catholic Church, 149 Cottage Street, NY, 10940. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown, NY.
