Frederick “Bud” Jackson, beloved husband, devoted father and cherished Poppa passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 surrounded by his loved ones at Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. He was 78.
He was born on January 27, 1935 in Brooklyn to Fred and Elizabeth Jackson. He served in the United States Air Force before a 48 year career with Western Union/AT&T.
Bud worshipped the sun, sand and lemonade. He enjoyed spending time on Cape Cod with his wife, golfing, his pool and his garden. He loved seeing his children as parents and was delighted by his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Noel; their three daughters, Christine and her husband Lou, Liz and her husband Ted and Diane and her partner Ken; two sisters, Mary and Fran and grandchildren; Kayla, Alyssa, Luca, Olivia, Garrett, Liam, Ryan, Maddie, Connor and Ally; lots of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
He was predeceased by one sister, Betty.
Visitation hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Friday, December 20, 2013 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 90 Euclid Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. Burial with Military honors will follow in Orange County Veterans Cemetery, 111 Craigville Road, Middletown, NY 10940.
Memorial contributions in Fred’s name may be made to Parkinsons’ Research Foundation.
