Frederic Duchesne, a longtime Middletown resident, died with his family at his side at Sierra Medical Center in El Paso, TX on Wednesday, December 3, 2014. He was 69.
One of the late Alfonso and Mildred Pagano’s seven children, he was born on February 24, 1945 in Flushing, Queens. He married Wanda Skorupski on October 10, 1965 in Flushing, NY. Fred was well known within the community. He was an active member for more than 20 years in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxilary and worked in New York Harbor during 9/11. Fred performed many patrols on the Hudson River assisting boaters.
He was predeceased by his sister, Patricia Pabon.
In addition to his loving wife, Wanda, he is survived by his children: James Duchesne, Lori Duchesne Helbeck and her husband, Ed, and Scot Duchesne and his wife, Marie; his grandchildren: Alicia, Elaina and Olivia Helbeck and his siblings: Al Duchesne, Cookie Duchesne, Bunny Anzollini, Madeline Bauer and Clara Cartagena.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 9th at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Ave., Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Service will be held at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, December 10th at the funeral home; Deacon Richard Tripani will officiate. Cremation will be private following the service.
