June 1, 1943 - December 10, 2012

Middletown, NY

Freddy A. Miranda, of Middletown, died on Monday, December 10, 2012, after a long illness at Orange Regional Medical Center. He was 69. 

The son of the late Armindo and Roselia Maldonado Miranda, he was born on June 1, 1943 in Barceloneta, Puerto Rico. 

Freddy served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961-65. He married Lillian Ayala in New York City in 1967 and they shared 45 years of marriage together. He worked for OTB in New York City as an HVAC technician. Freddy will be remembered by his family and friends as a caring man who had a good heart. He busied himself doing household projects. 

In addition to his devoted wife, Lillian, at home, he is survived by his two sons: Andre and Kenneth Miranda; one brother, Armindo Miranda; one sister, Aida Iris Ocasio and one granddaughter, Arianna Miranda. He was predeceased by one brother, Israel and a sister, Amalia Viruet. 

Visitation hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, December 14, 2012 at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown, NY. Burial with Military honors will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
