Frank “Papa” S. Gobeo, a lifetime Middletown resident, died on Monday, October 1, 2018 in Boynton Beach, FL. He was 91.
The youngest child of William Gobeo, Sr. and Amelia Petrella Gobeo, he was born on January 9, 1927 in Middletown, NY. He graduated from Middletown High School in 1945 and served in the US Army from 1945 to 1947. He was a tech Sergeant and was stationed in Occupied Japan. Frank worked for the U.S. Postal Service until his retirement in 1985. Frank and his wife Ceil, owned and operated Gobeo’s Restaurant in Middletown, NY.
“Daddy was a loving son, father, grandfather and great-grandfather”.
Frank was predeceased by his siblings; Anthony Gobeo, Alfred Gobeo, Rose (Gobeo) Capozella and William Gobeo, Jr. He was also predeceased by the little love of his life, his Shi-Tzu, Lily Pooh.
He is survived by his daughter, Barbara A. Gobeo of Middletown, NY, his sons, Frank P. Gobeo and his wife Janet of Boca Raton, FL and David M. Gobeo and his wife Kim of Del Ray Beach, FL.
He also leaves behind his loving grandchildren, Kimberly Brodsky and her husband Harris, Adam McCarey and his wife Ashley and daughters Addison Rose and Amelia Grace, Frank S. Gobeo II and his wife Vanessa and sons Noah Salvatore and Lucas Orazio, David M. Gobeo II and his wife Ashley and their daughter Alexandra Farina and sons David Matthew III and Vincent Arthur, Mark Gobeo and Kevin Gobeo and his wife Jessica and their daughter Ellie Christine and son Colton James.
Daddy will also be missed by his cousins and his many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 8:30 am to 10:30 am on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home at 10:30 am and the burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Middletown, NY.
