Obituary for Frank "Frankie" J. Congiolosi
Frank “Frankie” J. Congiolosi, a lifetime area resident died Saturday, May 6, 2006 at home with his family by his side. He was 89 years old.
The second of four children born to the late Vincenzio and Margarite Mongano Congiolosi, Frank was born January 1, 1917 in New York City.
A Veteran of World War II, he proudly served his country in the United States Army.
On October 12, 1941, he married Helen Kunz in Port Jervis, NY.
He was a member of the Otisville American Legion as well as the Otisville Fire Department. Frank also assisted in the coordination of purchasing the first ambulance from Florida, New York for the Village of Otisville.
Family gatherings were an important part of Frank’s life. He loved people and was genuinely content with his life.
Frank is survived by his loving wife, Helen, at home; two daughters Stephanie “Tuffy” Muer and her husband, Joe, of New Hampton, and Barbara Toth and her husband, Andrew, of Saratoga Springs; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; one son-in-law Anthony “Skip” Coppola of Otisville; and one sister, Rose Grosso of Florida.
He was predeceased by his daughter Beverly Coppola on May 8th, 2002.
Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, May 8th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc. 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 9th at 11am at Holy name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church in Otisville, NY. Monsignor Peter Tran Van Phat will officiate.
Burial will follow in the family plot in Holy Name of Jesus Cemetery, Otisville.
Memorial contributions in Frank’s name may be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, 800 Stonybrook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550.
